Windows-specific tips & troubleshooting

Notifications not showing? Open Windows Settings → System → Notifications, make sure Telegram is allowed and Focus Assist is off. Inside the app, verify Settings → Notifications is enabled for chats you care about.

Modern Telegram releases require Windows 10 or newer. On older systems you can still use Telegram Web from any browser.

Do I need the phone connected to use the PC version?

Only during the very first login to receive the code. After that, the Windows client is fully independent — you can turn the phone off entirely.

Is the direct tsetup installer safer than the Microsoft Store?
